Brasseler Receives TOP 100 Award in Heidelberg

Lemgo/Heidelberg, July 15, 2026

Brasseler received its TOP 100 award at the German SME Summit in Heidelberg. The Lemgo-based family-owned company was honored with the prestigious innovation seal for the third time in 2026, once again ranking among Germany’s most innovative small and medium-sized enterprises.

Award as Recognition and Incentive

The awards ceremony took place at the Heidelberg Congress Center. TOP 100 mentor Christian Wulff, former Federal President, personally congratulated the award-winning companies. Michael Küllmer, Head of Innovation Management, was among those who accepted the award on behalf of Brasseler at the event.

In the scientific selection process, Brasseler stood out in its size category, particularly in the “Innovation Success” category. The innovative strength of medium-sized companies was evaluated based on more than 100 criteria across five categories. The scientific director of the competition is Prof. Dr. Nikolaus Franke, one of the leading innovation researchers in the German-speaking world.

“Innovation does not result from a single award, but from continuous work across the entire Brasseler Group,” says Stephan Köhler, spokesperson for the management board. “Being named a TOP 100 Innovator once again is therefore a valuable affirmation. It shows that we have laid important groundwork in recent years. At the same time, it serves above all as an incentive for us to consistently continue on this path—with the goal of continuing to develop solutions that offer real added value to users and patients.”

User Benefits as a Driver of Innovation

Under the Komet brand, Brasseler develops innovative precision instruments and system solutions for the dental industry and surgery that are specifically tailored to real-world clinical needs. This consistent focus on user benefits and continuous improvement was a key factor in the company’s renewed recognition as a TOP 100 Innovator.

Examples include the EnDrive, a drive system for root canal instruments that won the Red Dot Design Award, and the “Rocky” instrument from Komet Dental. Rocky was developed specifically for the removal of particularly hard all-ceramic crowns made of zirconia or lithium disilicate and combines high cutting performance with durability. Such developments help make treatment procedures more efficient, safer, and more user-friendly, and reflect the company’s commitment to innovation.

“The award ceremony in Heidelberg highlighted what many colleagues at Brasseler work toward every day,” says Michael Küllmer, Head of Innovation Management. “What matters most to us, however, is that we develop concrete solutions based on ideas, feedback from clinical practice, and technological expertise. We continue to work on this in Lemgo and throughout the entire Brasseler Group.”

Exchange as the Foundation for Future Innovations

A key component of this is direct exchange with users, customers, universities, and external experts. Through initiatives such as the Komet Academy, participation in international trade shows, and collaboration with key opinion leaders, Brasseler continues to expand its network of knowledge and expertise. Insights from real-world applications are systematically fed back into the development process, helping to ensure that innovations are closely aligned with actual needs.

With its third TOP 100 award—following those in 2022 and 2023—Brasseler sees this as confirmation that it is on the right track. At the same time, the company views the award as a starting point for its next steps: further strengthening its culture of innovation, fostering closer collaboration within the Brasseler Group, and developing new solutions for users worldwide.
